Forged wheel hub assembly is made in this way: the heated softened aluminum block is placed in a steel mold and form it by stamping, then do mechanical processing after cooling molding. It is easy to mass produce for casting. The forging process is complex, so the manufacturing cost is high. However, in the production process of forged wheel hub assembly, due to the continuous stamping of aluminum block, its molecular structure will become very close after molding. Therefore, it can withstand higher pressure, so that the forged wheel hub assembly is lighter than the cast wheel hub assembly in the same size and strength.
Furthermore, the forged wheel hub assembly has a compact structure and can withstand high stress, so it can design some lively thin spokes in the modeling design. There's more freedom in the design(relatively). Forged wheel hub assembly are also much more expensive than cast wheel hub assembly, so they are mostly used in high-end cars that focus on handling. Those high-performance super cars adopt forged wheel hub assembly without exception.
